You are reading this post because of the concept of Objects taking over our lives. Objects can give birth to and/or kill other objects, communicate with each other and perform many tasks as they go about their lives. Some of them can ask other objects to perform certain tasks. They don't know why they exist, but they do know that they exist.
The result of these objects communicating with each other can be quite astonishing. Someone I know has an app installed on his iPad which sorts music into galaxies, with stars and planets as the album and tracks respectively.
If you think about our galaxy and the universe we live in, the object model fits in quite well. We are all objects; we communicate with each other and although we do certain tasks which can be quite crucial, we are eventually going to die.
The concept of containers is interesting. Computer applications use the concept of containers to group objects; much like we live in containers. This concept is built into us from childhood. The action figure that you opened as a present was in a container, the cookies that you ate were stored in a jar.
Likewise, this text is visible on your screen, and the screen exists in the environment that you are in. You and I, with today's technology, are bound to the Earth. The Moon is bound to the Earth too and we revolve round the Sun. The Sun is part of a massive galaxy and galaxies are clusters of objects themselves which send out light to each other. All these galaxies are part of the root folder we call the Universe.
Are we all mere objects, functioning and going about our lives till a destructor terminates us? Was logic built into us by a higher power, much like we build computer applications? Are the buildings and cities we see merely structures and databases which we have the power to create and destroy? Is there a fat dude eating chips and sipping on ice cold cola watching us and laughing his ass off at our confidence?
